Summer at Disney
June – August
Florida summers are HOT and WET. Think lightweight, breathable, and always have a poncho. The heat index regularly hits 105°F — plan park days around the afternoon storms.
Clothing
- Moisture-wicking shirts (2 per day)
Cotton holds sweat — go synthetic or bamboo
- Lightweight shorts or skirts
Dark colors hide sweat better

Wet socks = blisters. Pack 3 pairs per day
- Swimsuit + cover-up
You'll want the pool every afternoon
Sun & Heat
- SPF 50+ sunscreen (reef-safe)
Reapply every 90 min — no exceptions
- Wide-brim hat or baseball cap
Protect your face and neck
- Cooling towel
Game-changer in the afternoon heat

Battery-powered, fits in a backpack
Rain

Skip the park ponchos — they're $12 each
- Waterproof phone pouch
Afternoon storms are sudden and heavy
Bag
- Lightweight backpack or hip pack
Crossbody bags get heavy fast
- Portable charger (20,000 mAh)
MagicBand + phone GPS drains batteries fast
- Reusable water bottle (insulated)
Free ice water at any quick-service counter
Health
- Electrolyte packets
Liquid IV or Nuun — prevent heat exhaustion
- Blister bandages (Compeed)
You will walk 10+ miles a day
Steph's Summer Tip
Book your park days to start at rope drop (7–8am) and leave by 2pm when the heat and crowds peak. Come back in the evening when it cools down and the parades start.
